Kenneth Kendzierski Obituary

Kenneth Paul Kendzierki Born May 18, 1952 in Yonkers, NY. Moved to Colorado in the 60's and retired in Canon City, CO in 2011. Ken died on May 2, 2024 after becoming critically ill with Influenza A; Pneumonia; Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome(ARDS), and Septic Shock. Ken fought hard to get better but it wasn't meant to be after the final infection. He died in Tahiti French Polynesia at the end of our dream vacation of the Polynesian Islands. We made some wonderful memories and wishing he was able to remember them with me. Ken loved to hunt in his younger years. He went deer, elk, antelope and bird hunting with his brother and all his hunting buddies every year. He enjoyed camping and fishing.

Loved going out to Lake Pueblo and strolling around in the boat and even if we didn't catch anything we enjoyed those days so much. He loved gardening and planted a big veggie garden every year. He was always so proud of his yearly bounty of vegetables. Ken worked as an electrician and retired after 30 years of service from Lockheed Martin. Lockheed was the perfect place for Ken because he was so interested in aircraft and space. He saw so many awesome things.

After retirement he was my travel partner and we tried to book a trip every year.

We visited so many amazing places. His favorite place was Rome, Italy. He was so amazed at seeing the Coliseum right around the corner from our hotel. We were fortunate to have been able to travel to most places on our bucket list. Ken did not have any children of his own but referred to his step children as his children.

He was a constant in their lives. Ken taught the kids a lot about nature and camping and fishing. We all had so much fun on those camping trips in Hotel Kendzierski a sign he made up for the tent. Ken was such a good man. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Terri Kendzierski, his (step)children Bryan (Tara) Knight and Lori Knight Seydel (Chris; grandchildren Christopher Knight and Isabella Seydel and Isabella's father, Harold; brothers Dan (Janet) Jeff (Cindy) and Rodger Kendzierski and stepsisters Linda Karl and Sheryl Roach. Services will be at The Chapel at the Steeple Event and Conference Center, 701 Macon Avenue, Canon City, CO on May 31, 2024 at 11 am. Graveside service to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
