Kenneth Gene Minich, a man of profound faith and boundless love, has passed away on his 79th birthday, January 8, 2025, in Florence, Colorado. Born on January 8, 1946, in Nebraska, Ken's journey through life was marked by dedication, service, and the warmth of a close-knit family. Ken worked on his family’s farm in Hemingford, NE, graduating from Hemingford High School in 1964. A proud husband, Ken had been married to his beloved wife, Mary Anderson, since June 19, 1966. Together, they raised two sons, Steven (Shannon) and Jeff (Melissa), and were blessed with a legacy of grandchildren: Timothy, Brenna, Brandon, Kyrstin (Dylan), Daniel (Katie), Joshua (Rita), Kiah, Jakob, and Hannah, as well as five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Cynthia), while his parents, Kenneth and Doris, predeceased him. Kenneth had a distinguished career in the Army. His contributions were significant, including involvement in the development of the Patriot Missile and the A10 Warthog. He also oversaw U.S. Army reserves during the pivotal decade of the 1980s. After his military service, Ken went on to achieve his master’s degree and transitioned to a successful second career as a realtor. His commitment to his faith was unwavering. Kenneth served as a deacon at Connect Church in Canon City, Colorado, and shared his love for Scripture as a Sunday School teacher for over five decades, positively influencing many students. His interests spanned from cars to electronics, and he cherished the serenity of hunting. Kenneth's life was a testament to the values he held dear: faith-filled and loving. His legacy endures not only through his family but also in the community he so passionately served. As we remember Kenneth Gene Minich, we celebrate a life truly well-lived—a beacon of devotion and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Ken’s memorial services will be held at Connect Church of Canon City, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions fund of Connect Church of Canon City.
