On Sunday July 16th 2023, Kyla Porter went home to her Savior. Kyla was born to Harold and Dorothy (McNew) Porter on September 17, 1955. Kyla was one of four children. Kyla traveled to many states in her life and served many communities as a waitress and bartender where she made many lifelong friends. Kyla enjoyed family barbecues and competing in chili cook offs where she won many awards.
Kyla built a beautiful family and is survived by her brothers Harold (Kenny) Porter, Eldon (Joyce) Porter; six children; Melvin (Vanessa) Porter, Mark (Karen) Bilbey, Michael (Hilary)Bilbey, Marty (Amity)Bilbey, Matthew (Jessica)Bilbey and Karissa Grindstaff, and 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews across the US.
Kyla is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Porter, sister Yanita Porter, niece Patricia Lambert, aunt Carol McNew, partner Donald Grindstaff and sadly many others. Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Kyla on August 19th,2023 at 11am at Fourmile Community Center in Canon City, CO.
