Lloyd “Buddy” Byron Moore Jr. went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the age of 53. He was born September 18, 1968, in Cañon City, Colorado, to Lloyd B Moore and Cheryl Waxon Moore.
He married his best friend and love of his life Sheri Cook on January 1, 2001 and would have celebrated 21 years of marriage on their anniversary. Together they created a beautiful life filled with many friends, family, and fur babies.
Buddy was a 1987 graduate of Cañon City High School who went on to hold a variety of jobs before returning to Cañon City. He was a stockbroker and involved in the Stratosphere development in Las Vegas and assisted his dad in numerous construction projects including building the Comfort Inn in Cañon City where he met the love of his life Sheri.
Lloyd was the proud business owner of A-1 Garage Doors for over 20 years. He enjoyed rv’ing, riding his RZR all over the state of Colorado, target shooting and was an active member of the Friends of the NRA. He loved his classic cars including his 1969 pink Bronco and 1984 300 ZX Anniversary edition which he had owned since high school. Star Wars movies and collectables were his passion, Darth Vader being his favorite.
While Buddy endured a lifetime of health issues including two kidney transplants, he was blessed with many years of good health during his adult life until this past summer when he developed bone marrow cancer. The past few months were a hard-fought battle.
He leaves behind his dearly beloved wife, Sheri; mother, Cheri Moore; sisters, Brenda McKay, Gwen Bradbury; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Thelma Cook; brother-in-law, Ron (Michelle) Cook; nieces and nephews, Danika Donovan, Jake (Trenton) Bradbury, Kylie (Anthony) Jaramillo, Trevor (Elsa) Cook, and Ashton Cook; great niece and nephew, Audrey and Emmett Donovan and his four-legged sidekick, Darth Vader. He will also be dearly missed by close friends Kenny Clark, Lori and Bill Kimack, Joe Davis, Jason Gowdy, John Fontecchio and Mike Moore.
He was proceeded in death by his father Lloyd Moore; nephew Seth Davis; and brother-in-law Brandt Bradbury.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, at the Abbey Events Center, 2951 East Highway 50 in Cañon City.
