Larry Dean Pfannenstiel, devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, was called home by his Savior on July 12th, 2023, surrounded by his close family. He was born August 16, 1953, in Hays Kansas to Edward Pfannenstiel and Lillian Kreutzer Pfannenstiel (Kenway). Larry grew up in Littleton Colorado where he graduated from Littleton High School in 1971. Then at age 17 enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1971 to 1974. Larry was extremely proud to have served his country often saying, “I am John Wayne, Apple Pie, and USA!”. Larry lived in many places throughout his life including Frankfurt Germany, Reno Nevada, Kooskia Idaho, Stockton California, Pueblo West & Penrose Colorado.
Larry’s self-proclaimed “greatest life-changing accomplishment” was establishing a relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 1981 and shortly after, he met the love of his life, Karin Jeanine Sidener. They were married on April 9, 1983, and were blessed with two wonderful children. Larry treasured the time he spent coaching his son and daughter during the early years of their baseball, and softball activities. Larry enjoyed working in the Manufactured Stone Industry for some 25 years and became happily obsessed with “all things stone”. Larry had a heart for helping others and was blessed with the gift of gab. All who knew him will remember his “wonky” sense of humor and ability to laugh, especially at himself and with his grandchildren whom he adored! Larry is survived by his wife Karin Pfannenstiel, sister Patty (Todd) Tucker, his son Ed (Chelsea) Pfannenstiel, his daughter Breanna (Sean) Slattery, and his grandchildren James, Emmitt, and Hope. All of whom enriched his life and will miss him greatly.
Family & friends are invited to attend his memorial service Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Livingstone Calvary Chapel, 830 Bridge St, Canon City CO. Celebration of Life will follow immediately at Holy Cross Abbey, 2951 E. Highway 50 Canon City Co.
