Larry O. Linscott, 76, of Canon City, Colorado, died at home on December 23, 2023, surrounded by family. Larry was born in Alamosa, Colorado on June 28, 1947 to Curtis and Geraldine (Cornish) Linscott. He graduated from Canon City High School in 1966 before attending Bible college in Missouri.
Larry accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age and lived his life to love and honor Him. After Bible college he pastored three churches in Colorado and officiated two generations of family marriages. He met Karen in 1968 while in school in Kansas City, MO. They were married in 1969 and have enjoyed 54 years together. In 1978 they had one daughter, Goldie.
Larry was an avid reader and made it a point to read the Bible through each year. He was a member of the Historical Society of Canon City and served on their board for several years. He loved fishing with his aunt Carol, going to Cripple Creek with his cousin Jeanie, and watching old westerns. He took several road trips with his daughter and granddaughter Brooke and enjoyed collecting National Park passport stamps. He was a gentle good man that loved his family and friends deeply.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leroy. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Anson) Linscott; daughter Goldie Owens; granddaughters Brooke (Ryan) Coulter and Alyssa Owens; great grand-daughter Addison Coulter; aunt Carol Cornish; cousins Jeanie Sims, Valerie (Robert) Brant, and Kevin (Charlotte) Burford; sisters-in-law Sheila Anson and Sharon (John) McIsaac and their families. In addition, his lifelong friends Jim and Margaret Serfoss, Eldon and Lisa Martin, and Shawn and Sarah Johnston.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff of Colorado Springs Cardiology, especially Dr. Fansler and physician assistant Amanda Irons, as well as Dr. Albrecht and nurse Julie Ann Gossage. Thank you also to Fremont Regional Hospice for their compassionate and caring staff.
A memorial for Larry will be held at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, 4501 Bear Paw Drive in Florence, Colorado, on January 16, 2024, at 10 am.
