Marianne Gora passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2022. She was born September
24, 1929 in Gary, Indiana where she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
She moved to Colorado in 1982 and became a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Marianne was a food service Manager at Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City. She later
moved to Monte Vista, Colorado where she also worked as a food service manager for the
Colorado Veteran’s Home at Homelake. After retiring, she moved back to Canon City, Colorado.
She is survived by eight children. Janet (Fred) Rosenwinkel, Henry Gora, Steve (Linda) Gora,
Carl (Dorothy) Gora, Christine Gora, Mary Ann Gora, Kathy (Naomi Swisher) Gora, and Thomas
(Ashlee) Gora. Marianne is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and
loyal canine companion Shotszy. She was preceeded in death by husband Henry A. Gora.
The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to daughter Mary Ann who was Mom’s main
caregiver, enabling Mom to spend her elderly years at home and to pass peacefully at home as
Mom had always hoped for. Also, to canine companion Shotszy who provided Mom with daily
companionship, warmth, and love.
