Marjorie Zimmermann Obituary

Glenn John Zimmermann and Marjorie Mae Zimmermann, both natives of the Random Lake area, died on Nov. 13, 2021 — Marjorie in the morning hours
in Canon City, Colo., and Glenn in the afternoon hours in Colorado Springs, Colo. Marjorie was born in Sheboygan on Feb. 28, 1950, a daughter of Armin and Janet Kaiser Arndt.  She graduated from Random Lake High School in 1968. Glenn was born in Sheboygan on Jan. 12, 1947, a son of Laverne Binder
Zimmermann and a step-son of Louis Weber.  He graduated from Random Lake High School in 1966.  He was a volunteer firefighter for the Silver
Creek Fire Department and a volunteer EMT for the Random Lake Fire Department. They were married on June 6, 1970 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ
in Silver Creek. Glenn and Marjorie were loving parents to Connie Mae Zimmermann, Corine Janet Meyer, Craig John Zimmermann and Carmen Laverne Hillstead.  They raised their children with love and devotion in Random Lake the majority of their life and some years in Canon City, Colo.
Mrs. Zimmermann owned/operated a ceramic business, operated restaurants, and owned/operated A&K Catering with her husband, mother, children and
employees who were like family.  Marjorie loved baking, visiting with her children and grandchildren, giving gifts, fishing and watching the
deer and hummingbirds that she and her husband fed. Mr. Zimmermann worked in a management  position at Simplicity Canon City, Colo., in 1993, and he then worked as a correctional officer at the Colorado State Penitentiary.  After moving back to Wisconsin in 1996, he worked in a management position at Times Printing Co., Inc., in Random Lake.  After retiring they moved back to The Centennial State in June of 2017. In 1966, at the age of 19, Glenn enlisted into the U.S. Army and attained the rank of corporal specialist.  As part of his service in the Vietnam War, he was placed as a sniper.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat  Infantryman’s Badge and Vietnam Campaign Medal.  He was a member of Hamm-Miller-Diedrich American Legion Post 145 of Random Lake. Glenn loved hunting, trap shooting, fishing,  boating,  classic cars, 
woodworking,  feeding the deer in his backyard in Colorado,  growing flowers,  feeding the hummingbirds, making bread and spending time with
his kids and grandchildren. They are survived by their four children, Connie (Al) Zimmermann of Pueblo, Colo., Corine (Jon) Meyer of Oconomowoc, Craig (Erika) Zimmermann of Florence, Colo., and Carmen (Alan) Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah; 14 grandchildren, Ashley Delaney of Canon City, Colo., Sara
Delaney of Pueblo, Colo., Deston Meyer of Oconomowoc, Alyssa Zimmermann of Grand Junction, Colo., Colten Meyer of Oconomowoc, Dylan Zimmermann
of Florence, Colo. Dallin Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah, Peyton Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah, Noah Zimmermann of Florence, Colo., Paige Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah, Sawyer Zimmermann of Florence, Colo., Caleb Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah., Kali Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah., and Danica Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah;  one great-grandchild, Sophia Holt of Canon City, Colo.; Marjorie’s brothers, Gerald (Patricia) Arndt, Duane Arndt, and Brian (Jennifer) Arndt, all of Random Lake; and a sister-in-law, Chris Arndt of Random Lake.  They are also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives that they loved dearly. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Armin Arndt and Janet Kaiser Arndt; and a brother, Dale Arndt. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Laverne Binder Zimmermann; his step-father, Louis Weber; and siblings Roy Zimmermann, Nancy Watry and David Zimmermann. 
A funeral service and celebration of their lives will be held on Sat., Dec. 11, from 1-5 p.m. at the Silver Creek Fire Hall in Silver Cree.  Cremation has taken place and burial for both will be in Saint Pauls U.C.C. Cemetery in Silver Creek. In lieu of flowers, a savings account has been established for expenses
