Marvin Lawrence Hinton, 84, of Florence, CO passed away on May 10, 2021 in
Pueblo, CO. He was born on November 30, 1936 in Stockville, Nebraska to Avery
and Oma (Knight) Hinton. He moved with his family to Penrose, CO in
September 1943. Marvin married Betty Weaver and had two children, Loretta and
Allen. He married Jeanette (Bessey) in 1965 and they were married for over 50
years.
He was an iron worker and farmer by trade. He loved fishing, hunting, driving in
the mountains, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed telling stories and
making people laugh. He also enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales to see what
kind of deals he could get.
He is survived by his daughter Loretta Phillips, stepdaughters Charlene (Jack)
Hicks and Kathy (George) Barnes, stepson Clayton (Candy) Kirby, brother Francis
(Muriella) Hinton and sister Hazel Rucker. He has 18 grandchildren, 47 great-
grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his
wife, Jeanette, his parents Avery and Oma Hinton, eight brothers, six sisters, his
son Allen and stepson Billy. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May
15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pavilion at the Penrose Park. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to Sangre De Cristo Hospice.
