In loving Memory of Mia Marie Merill
Mia Marie Merill passed away May 15, 2024 in Penrose, Colorado. Mia was born in Denver, Colorado at St. Joseph's Hospital. She scored a perfect 10 on the APGAR score and her Uncle Steve stated he never gives his patients a perfect 10 but was impressed with her inquisitiveness. Mia and her family moved to Lafayette, LA then to Graham, Texas, back to Lafayette, LA then to Sidney, MT and finally to Penrose, Colorado. Mia graduated high school in 2005 from Sidney Senior High School at the age of 17. Mia then went to the Boulder College of Massage Therapy where she earned her AOS degree.
Mia moved to Penrose, Colorado with her family and became a CNA working in many health care facilities. Mia decided to go back to school to become a Medical Assistant and took classes at the Intellitec College in Pueblo graduating with top honors and a 3.98 grade point average. Mia blamed the class of how to manage finances and interview for a job which kept her from a perfect 4.0.
Mia was an avid reader and loved her books. She was reading at the age of 3 and copy page after page out of the encyclopedia on subjects that interested her. Mias' most valued and favorite past time was reading her collection of books and listening to her audio books. She also loved her pets especially her Border Collie, Shadow.
Mia accepted her Lord and Savior at an early age and astounded her parents at the level of faith she had. She would always say in her older years that Jesus and her were tight like this as she would cross her fingers. She had an amazing personality and would make us laugh at the things she would come up with. She will be missed by her friends and family but we rejoice in the fact she is finally pain free and not suffering anymore.
Mia is survived by her Dad (Roy), Mom (Sandy), Brother (Derrick), sister-in-law (Narissa). Her uncles and aunts, Dr. Steve and Marsha Baisch, Tim and Deborah Baisch, Brad and Monica Baisch, Robert and Paula Merrill, Bill and Norma Stevenson, many cousins and her best friends, Yvette, Katherine and Cece.
Mia is preceded in death by her grandparents Maynard and Edith (Milne) Baisch from Sidney, Montana, Grandparents Glen and Ella Faye (Phillips) Merrill from Cross Plains, Texas. Cousin Bradley Baisch Jr, from Sidney, Montana, Aunt Deborah Baisch from Glendive, Montana, Uncle Maxey Evans from Cross Plains, Texas and her beloved dog Shadow.
