Mildred “Millie” Carlo, 81, passed away in Pueblo, CO on June 17, 2026. She graduated from Centennial High School with honors, Southern Colorado State College (BA) and University of Colorado Colorado Springs (MA). Millie had many areas of interest but always put family first. She loved her three daughters fiercely and recently said that being a grandma was her “favorite.” She worked for Pueblo County for 30 years while maintaining membership in Mensa and the League of Women Voters - which she was particularly passionate about. Millie loved to garden and was known for her beautiful rose bushes and flower arrangements. Her love of reading remained constant as she had a life long love of learning. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Orabelle Fitzgerald. She is survived by her daughters: Katie (Steve) Garza, Julie (John) Armstrong, and Joanie Carlo (Lyle Anderson); grandchildren: Jhanadu Garza (Eric Nuckols), Jessie (CJ) Sasser, Taylor (Ryan) Girtin, Noah (Erin) Carlo-Armstrong, Molly Armstrong and Cassey Anderson (Kyle Echeverria); great-grandchildren: Christian, Spencer, Porter, Tate, Charlie and Logan and brother: Bill (Kathy) Fitzgerald. Millie will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank Abode Hospice in Pueblo, CO. A memorial service will be posted at a later date.
