Nancy Ann Klima

Nancy Ann Klima, age 83, died April 24, 2026, at Canon Lodge Care Center in Canon City, CO., following a long struggle with dementia under the loving care of her husband, Jon, and family.

Nancy was born on August 3, 1942, in Mason City, Iowa, to Lawrence R. and Marjorie Louise (Clingman) Neibergall. She is survived by husband Jon Klima, son Larry (and Laura) Klima, daughter Tara Klima, and brothers Mick (and Lynn) Neibergall and family in Iowa, and John (and Karen) Neibergall and family in Minnesota. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Kenny.

Nancy grew up in Mason City and Webster City, Iowa, graduating valedictorian from high school in Webster City in 1960.

She attended Iowa State University, where she met her husband Jon. They were married on November 27, 1962, and moved to Littleton, CO. Nancy completed her undergraduate degree in English at Denver University.

In 1971 Jon and Nancy moved to Conifer, CO, where they lived until they moved to Guffey, CO., in 2003.

Nancy worked as a librarian in the Jefferson County Libraries in Evergreen and Conifer, CO. She also wrote poems and stories for several publications, including Ranger Rick, Ladybug, and Highlights for Children. Her most recently published story is in the May 2026 issue of Highlights for Children.

In addition to being passionate about family, education, and animals, Nancy loved to take walks and hikes with her children and their goats, dogs and cat in Conifer. She loved stopping to identify and enjoy the mountain wild flowers along the pathways.

No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembering her with donations in Nancy’s honor to the Humane Society of Fremont County in Canon City, CO.
