Patricia "Trish" Taylor, a native of Colorado, was born on November 18, 1964. She went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2023. She graduated from Florence High School in 1983.
Trish is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, Mike. Her son, Jesse, his Fiancée, Nikki, and two stepsons, Justin and Jason. She also leaves behind numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, friends, acquaintances, Moo her beloved chihuahua, and three cats: Possum, Dusty, and Squeaky.
Trish loved life. Her bubbly personality and genuine love for people endeared her to everyone who got to know her. She enjoyed taking road trips to the mountains with her husband and yard-sailing with her sisters. She especially loved her animals. True to her nature, she adopted rescue animals with special needs. She patiently helped them become healthy and happy.
Trish's unique gift for the hurting can be seen in her career. She was driven to pursue a path in healthcare and volunteer work after the loss of her parents. The lack of resources available to them and the lack of empathy in the system stirred something in Trish. It became a passion to be a care coordinator for those with no voice. She started as a receptionist at Dr. Sindler's office in Cañon City. She was quickly promoted to patient care coordinator then worked her way up to medical assistant. She eventually found her calling at Fremont Regional Hospice. In 2019, she became their grief care coordinator.
In her capacity as a grief counselor, so many people came to know Trish. She loved the people she worked with, calling them her "other family." She loved the people she served through Hospice, calling them her "tribe." Members of her tribe expressing gratitude for Trish's ministry said, "We will never forget your kindness, caring, compassionate heart, and words."
We will all miss Trish. May the grace and mercy of God sustain us as we bid our dear sister so long, knowing that we will see her again in Christ.
Join us for a celebration of life at Living Stone Calvary Chapel in Canon City on Friday, February 24th at 11:00am. The service will be followed by a reception at the venue and later a graveside ceremony at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence.
