Paul E. Cooper, nicknamed "Coop" by friends, passed away July 5, 2024 at the age of 99 in Florence, Colorado. Paul was born in Illinois March 23, 1925 the fourth son born to Frank and Mary Cooper. After leaving high school he joined the Navy in 1943. He served as a C1A Radioman on the USS Pitt in the Pacific. After the war, Paul returned to Illinois and enrolled in a pilot training school. Paul met and married Norma Ruckman in 1950. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Lari, Marilyn and John. They moved from Indiana to Colorado in 1972. Paul opened up JC Sales & Service, where he applied his hands-on skills and innate understanding of mechanics. His work not only provided for his family but also allowed him to form lasting relationships within his community.
Paul was also a member of the Shriners and participated in the Honda Patrol. Motorcycles was another passion he enjoyed.
Paul is survived by his 3 adult children, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and numerous great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love and dedication and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Graveside service will be Wednesday July 31, 2024, 11 A.M. at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colorado.
