Raymond Russell Rothgeb was born to Reverand Russell and Willie Marion Rothgeb Hurst on August 20, 1930 in Fresno, California. He had 2 sisters, Dorothy and Marion. They lived in various towns in California, later moving to Gunnison, Colorado. Ray went to school as well in Waxahachie, Texas where he took theology. He then moved with his family to Singapore where his dad built a church and Ray was a missionary. After moving back to Colorado , they built a their home and a church in Ouray, Colorado. Upon leaving the Army in 1954 he married Ruth Weller in Ouray, Colorado and made their home in Colorado Springs, then Florence, Colorado. They had 6 living children; Ray Jr., Scott, Billy, Robert, Carol, and Wanda who preceded him in death. Ruth died in 1985. In 1991 he met and married Marlene Moore Solis. Ray became a chartered bus driver for Continental and Trailway bus for 50 plus years. Later he became a repossessor for the banks in the Fremont County area. They made their home in Florence, then Canon City and Laverne Oklahoma before returning to Colorado, where he retired.
Survived by his wife Marlene of family home, grandchildren Rebecca Rothgeb, Rachel Rothgeb, Robert Rothgeb Jr., Renee Rothgeb, Joshua Pahl and Mary Sergent. Also survived by step children Pam and Craig Addington, John and Chris Solis, Jaime Solis, and Wendy Murphy, Connie and Kenny Means. Special friend, Jim, with whom he shared many a steak dinner with. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. No funeral per his wishes.
