Robert W. Dolata

Robert W. Dolata (79) passed to his eternal home on Sunday, April 9, 2023 (Easter Sunday).

Robert was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 6, 1943, to the late Walter F. and Florence (Maracic) Dolata. He graduated from St. Rita High School, Chicago, in 1961, attended college, and met the love his life, Patricia (Chappell) Dolata at a high school dance in 1962.  They were married in 1964 and had been married 58 years at the time of Robert's death.

Mr. Dolata acccepted his salvation in 2000 while attending New Covenant Christian Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  He continued his faith in the Lord when he and his wife relocated to Canon City, CO in 2009 and became Members of Christian Family Fellowship church.

Bob was talented in many ways.  He was a self-taught electrician; he enjoyed taking things apart and putting them together again.  He also worked as a Lab Technician, a Plant Engineer, a Hospital Maintenance Supervisor, as well as an Electrician.  He loved to cook and was great at it.  His favorite hobby was wood carving.  He earned many awards for his carving talent.  Over the years, his biggest highlight was being featured with his carvings in a six-page magazine spread in 2000 Better Homes and Gardens Santa Claus Edition.

Robert is survived in life by his wife, Patricia, his daughter, Mary Pat (Dolata) Schuster, son-in-law Randy Schuster, of Porterville, CA, granddaughter, Kaley May Schuster, of Los Angeles, CA, and his son, Michael R. Dolata of Fort Dodge, IA.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Christian Family Fellowship 1011 Monroe Avenue, Canon City, CO 81212.
