Ronald Eugene Lhamon was born November 11, 1947 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and passed away on April 9, 2026 in Penrose, Colorado surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Gerold Lhamon and his father-in-law Albert Molello. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathy, daughters Ronda Lhamon, Roxann Andrews; granddaughters Abby and Kayla Andrews; mother-in-law Donnie Molello and his best friend, Dan Strom and his beloved granddogs.
Ronald graduated from Concordia High in Ft. Wayne, IN in 1965. After graduation he worked for General Electric. Then he joined the Army Reserves and was activated for the Pueblo Crisis and stationed at Fort Carson where he met and soon married Kathy. In 1973 they bought Ron's Midway Service, a gas station and liquor store, and raised and trained Dobermans for over 13 years. He sold the business and started working construction jobs until 1999 when he decided to apply for CSP as a corrections officer where he worked for over five years before retiring on disability due to his heart condition.
Over the years he was a member of the Jaycees Club, the Florence Elks Club where he became the Exhaulted Ruler, and was also a volunteer on the Penrose Fire Department. Ronald loved poker and had games regularly in the Poker Palace on Friday nights, was on many bowling leagues, loved his sports, especially The Chicago Bears, Cubs and Indiana basketball/football and was an avid elk hunter (Camp FMD). He was also a part of the Penrose Stars Fantasy Football League.
Ron will be missed by all who came to know and love him. His memory continues to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, in the stories they share and in the many ways he touched their lives.
A memorial service will be held at Kirkwood Memorial Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Fremont Regional Hospice, Florence Fire Protection Dist. Station 2 in Penrose or Kirkwood Memorial Presbyterian Church.
