Scott Christopher Carter

In loving memory of Scott Christopher Carter who entered into eternal rest, August 8, 2023. Scott was husband to Samantha; father to Danielle, Stephanie, Christopher and Samuel; and grandfather to Ezrie, Dominic, and Micah, all of whom he loved very much. Scott was a smart, generous, and fun-loving character who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Scott was born on March 17, 1971 to Patricia and Dewey Carter in California. He was the youngest of three boys, following Jim and Dave. When Scott was a baby his family moved to Colorado where he was raised by his mom, Trish, and stepdad, Dennis Premer. After graduating from Frederick High School in 1989 he went on to study marketing and advertising at Metropolitan State University. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science. 

Scott met his wife, Samantha, in Frederick, Colorado in 1991. They married and had their first daughter, Danielle in 1992, followed by Stephanie in 1994. After some twists and turns in life, they married one another again in 2005 and had their third child and first son, Christopher in 2008 and their youngest, Samuel, in 2010. 

Scott often mentioned that his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of Danielle, Steph, Chris, Sammy and Samantha, and he always tried his best to support them. Scott was a force of nature in his determination to provide the life he lovingly believed his family deserved. He worked hard in every job he held before deciding to pursue the inspiring journey of an entrepreneur when he started a business, Digital Data Services, with his brother Dave in 1998 and his own company, Creative Map Solutions, in 2015. 

Scott was exceptionally creative and an incredible artist. His intelligence and natural talent made him highly sought after in work, but he always made time to help his friends and family as well. He loved music and playing the guitar. He loved sports, especially playing baseball and golf. He was the teammate everyone wanted for Trivial Pursuit and other board games. He loved being silly and he loved all manner of spending quality time with his family and friends. Anyone who knew Scott knows that no matter the time or distance, he remembered and loved you. 

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Premer, father, Dewey Carter, and brother, James Carter. Scott is survived by his father, Dennis Premer, brother Dave Carter, wife, Samantha Carter, daughter, Danielle St.Michel with son-in-law Kyle and granddaughter Ezrie, daughter, Stephanie Franco with son-in-law Gabriel and grandsons Dominic and Micah, his sons, Christopher and Samuel Carter, and his nieces and nephews. 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary for Scott will be held on August 19, 2023 at 9:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Westcliffe, Colorado.
