Sharon Couch Obituary

Sharon Couch, a beacon of love and light, passed away in her home in Penrose, Colorado, on November 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Sharon was born on March 8, 1943, to Byron and Eleanor Drake in Pueblo, Colorado, and welcomed home by her sisters.

She was recently preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, whom she missed dearly, followed closely by her sisters and very best friends, Marilyn (John) Kester, and Vina (Vince) Korman.  She was previously preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Eleanor Drake (Jaynes) in the early 1990s.

Sharon and her late husband, Richard Couch, were a formidable team in both life and business. Together, they operated Pueblo Marine and Cycle in the 1970s and later, SDI Enterprises. Sharon also worked as a medical transcriptionist for 30 years, initially at Parkview, then branching out on her own as an independent contractor before retiring and passing the torch to her daughter.  Sharon’s exceptional work ethic along with her warm personality were instrumental in the success of her enterprises.

Sharon's legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Deanna Michelle Downer (Weldon) and Brian Richard Couch (Libby), who were her pride and joy. Her guidance and wisdom were the cornerstones of their upbringing, and they continue to reflect the values she instilled in them. The light of her life also shone brightly upon her grandchildren, Victoria (Brian), McKenna (Marshall), Brandi (Cylde), Olivia, Isaac, Donovan, and Aubrey, as well as her six great-grandchildren, Marcelo, Arabella, Liliana, Elias, Malakai, and Alexander. Each of them carries a part of Sharon's spirit, her love for life, and her gentle kindness.

Her extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews, will hold dear the memory of Sharon's infectious laughter, her exceptional kindness, and the love she shared. She had the unique ability to make each family member feel special, and her home was always a haven of warmth and hospitality.

Sharon's influence extended far beyond her immediate circle. Her generosity of spirit, her unwavering support of her loved ones, and her dedication to her faith left an indelible mark on her community. As we bid farewell to Sharon, we celebrate a life richly lived and a soul that touched so many. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we cherish the moments we were blessed to share with her.

Sharon's departure from this world is not an end but a transition to a place of eternal peace and joy. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the love she had for each of us and the wisdom she imparted. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Richard and that her spirit will forever be with us, guiding us through the gentle whispers of memory and the legacy of her love.
