Terry Alan Sherfey, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado, at the age of 57. Born on April 13, 1968, in National City, California, Terry was a beacon of kindness and love throughout his life.
Terry was the proud son of Dale and Kathy Sherfey and grew up alongside his brother Brian. His family was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a beloved uncle to his nephew Matthew and his wife Angela. He was a dear friend of Ty, Linda, and Christopher Martin. Terry is survived by his parents, brother, nephew, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graduate of Florence High School's class of 1986, Terry went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Fort Lewis College.
Terry's life was marked by his generosity and a strong desire to be helpful to others. Even during his own troubles, Terry would say, "be careful," a reflection of his caring nature and concern for the well-being of those around him. Those who knew Terry would describe him as incredibly loving and unfailingly kind. Terry’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of family bonds, and the enduring impact of a caring soul.
Terry had many interests and hobbies during his short life. In his younger years he was actively involved in 4-H and school sports. He was a fan of the Colorado Avalanche, and he was a lifelong fan of the San Diego Chargers. He also enjoyed fishing, trips to Cripple Creek, woodworking, and caring for the many plants that he kept in his home. For years he carried a token that read, “Follow the footprints of the Lord. They will lead you through troubled times and brighten your life.”
Terry will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to Terry, we take solace in the memories we shared and the knowledge that his spirit continues to guide us, just as he always reminded us to “be careful”.
