Thomas Loren Maher

Thomas Loren Maher joined his wife Kathleen in heaven in the early morning hours of June 29, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born in Brookings, S.D., one of 15 children and grew up in Pine City, Minn. He later joined the United States Air Force. Tom was a gifted machinist and he and Kathleen owned and operated Short Run Stampings in Boulder, Colo.  After selling that business he took to the open road driving semis as an independent truck driver. 

Tom had four children: Gary (Evelyn) Maher, Mike (Jolene) Maher, Barb (Todd) Kuester, Colleen (Bruce) Eckman; six grandchildren: Holly, Ashley, Nicole, Stephany, Brittany, and Tylor; eight great-grandchildren: Ben, Page, Colton, Kirsten, Chelsey, Maci, Austin, Weston, and one great-great-grandchild: Andrew. Also surviving Tom are 12 brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, friends, and his beloved Bentley, a long-haired dachshund. He will be remembered for his stories.

A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colo., on Friday, July, 7, 2023 at 1 pm. 

A celebration of "Tucks" life will be held in Plymouth, Minnesota on September 16, 2023.
