Travis Rex Bonney, 24, of Canon City, Colorado passed away on May 15, 2025, in a single car accident in southern Colorado.
Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to James Stephen Bonney and Amanda Bonney on June 9, 2000. Travis grew up in Canon City, played Soccer throughout his childhood. A 2019 graduate of Canon City High School, Travis was known for his remarkable intelligence, hard work, and kindness. He always went above and beyond to put others before himself, earning the love and respect of all who knew him. He loved Colorado outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking and riding dirt bikes. He was always up for a round of golf or playing Xbox with his brother, cousins, and friends and playing board games with the family. A fan of all the sports teams, he particularly enjoyed the Broncos and the Nuggets. Also enjoyed jamming with his brother and crew in their band. A cinephile, he enjoyed all and had a great memory of who was in each movie.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator.
His vibrant spirit and dedication to family and friends will be deeply missed.
Survived by his loving parents, mother, Amanda, father, James (Bernadette) and his brother Axel, stepsister Brittany (JC), Nephew Andrew Crawley, stepbrother Andrew Ponzio (Brian). Colorado family Aunt Sarah Wetherbee and Uncle Sean Schroeder, Cousins who were close as brothers to Travis, Sam, Sawyer and Simon Schroeder. Grandparents, James and Joan Bonney and Rick and Cindy Barry and George Dillon. Illinois family Aunt Julianna Bonney-Lawson and Uncle Mike Lawson, cousins, Jacob, Austin and Katie Fox. Preceded in death grandparents Sandie and Joseph Wodzisz.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Travis's life, with details to be shared later.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Travis's memory to a charity of your choice that supports animals or outdoor conservation.
