Vernon L. Tovrea was born May 25, 1941 in Goodland, Kansas to Barton R. and Gladys E. Tovrea. Vernon Grew up on a farm in Seibert, Colorado. He graduated from High Plains. Vernon met his Wife Thelma L. Parker in Littleton, CO., and married on the 4th day of May 1963. Vernon worked for state highway department in Denver, CO. for a time before transferring to Westcliffe, CO. in 1974.He retired from the state highway with 30 years of service. He also worked for Fremont Paving for 19 years. Vernon finally decided to become a fulltime grandpa at the age of 76. He loved fishing, hunting, the mountains, work on small motors, metal detecting, wood working, going to auctions, collecting tools, he loved being around people, most importantly his family. Vernon had a full life. He was a loving father and devoted husband, he was funny and kind, and never took life to seriously. His contagious laugh will be missed. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sharon. He is survived by his wife Thelma, brother Ronnie, sister Myra, three children; Dale Tovrea (Sheri), Greg Tovrea, Shannon Tovrea; grandchildren, Cortney Shank (Gabriel), Brittany Martin (Josh), Hannah Jennings (Jake), Beverly Brisco (Paul), Will Tovrea, Keith Drennon, and Jeremiah Tovrea; Great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Corbyn, Reaghan, Maecie, Colin, Benjamin, Theodore, Oliver, Everleigh, and Gentry.
