Warren James ‘Jim’ Adamson, 82 of Florence Colorado passed away in Colorado Springs, CO on April 15, 2021. He was born on March 8, 1939 in Creed, CO to Harry and Mildred (Webb) Adamson.
Jim was an outstanding athlete, helping earn the Florence Huskies the 1957 State Football Championship. He was a proud veteran serving in the US Army. He attended Mesa State College, Adams State College and Colorado State College prior to marrying Connie Bufmack on October 18, 1965.
Jim was a charter member of the Florence Jaycees, serving as president and various other offices. He was on the RE- 2J School Board, and served on the Florence City Council. He was a member of Carpenters Local 2467, working alongside his father before becoming an independent contractor. In 1990 he began Royal Marble, offering cultured marble products, which he owned and operated until he retired.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He shared his passion for hunting and fishing with his friends and family no matter their age. Jim enjoyed spending time passing his knowledge along to the “younger generation” as he would say. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Jim will be remembered fondly for his amazing sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, son James of Loveland CO and daughter Rhonda of Florence CO. 5 grandchildren – Jared, Hannah, Sarah, Isaac and Jordyn and 5 great grandchildren. Brooke, Sienna, Reign, Hunter and Hadley. Also numerous nephews and nieces.
He is also survived by a sister Judy (Ron) Schill, and brothers Bob (Suzi) and Dan (Laurie) and brother in law Nicky Bufmack and sister-in-law Mabel Bufmack
In lieu of food and flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior program through the funeral home.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 24, 2021 at noon at the Florence Elks Club (casual dress).
