Willard James "Jim" Serfoss

We celebrate the life of Willard James "Jim" Serfoss, who passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2025, after courageously battling Parkinson's disease. Born on June 7, 1942, Jim lived a life of purpose, service, and unwavering faith. 

Jim was a devoted Christian man who received Christ as a young child and spent his life pointing others toward a relationship with Christ. His extroverted nature, gift for storytelling, and infectious humor brought joy to countless lives. He served his country with honor for four years in the Air Force, stationed in Hawaii and Japan, before dedicating 20 years to education in the RE-2 School District as an educator, principal, and business manager. Jim truly loved teaching and, after retiring, taught accounting for another 15 years at Pueblo Community College in Canon City. 

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret; sons Alan (Rikki), Gary (Tina), and Darin; daughter Shelly (Ryan); sister Betty Remington; grandchildren Niky, Stratton, Austin, Aspen, & Savannah; great-grandchildren Faith, Ellie & Braylin, and many other family members whom he loved and will miss him. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Willard "Dee" Serfoss and Alice Elizabeth Serfoss; brothers Joe, Elbert & Bob Serfoss; and sister Zelma Packard. 

A memorial service will be held at his home church, Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, on Saturday, August 9th at 10 AM. The church address is 4501 Bear Paw Rd, Florence, CO 81226.
