William Harry Beitler was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on April 6, 1936, and passed from this life on August 25, 2021 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.
Bill was the first born of four boys to Howard and Vivian Beitler of Blue Hill, Nebraska where they lived on a farm during children’s childhood years.
After Bill graduated from high school, he worked construction as a heavy equipment operator, and a mechanic in Junction City, Kansas. Bill was drafted into the Army on September 29, 1959 where he was TDY in France and Germany as a tractor scraper, crane, and shovel operator. Bill was honorably discharged on September 11, 1961.
Bill was married to his childhood sweetheart Carolyn Owens on December 23, 1959 while on leave from the services. Two children were born to this union; Kimberly June born Oct. 1965 and William Howard March 15, 1969.
Bill and family moved to Canon City where he worked for Colorado Refactories until he retired in 2001 when Colorado Refactories was purchased by another company.
Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Kimberly Griffiths (Bill) of Canon City. Grandsons Chance Beitler (Jamie) of Canon City. Keith Rickert (Tamara) of Canon City. Granddaughters Heather Briggs (Dan) Pueblo, CO. Karolyn , Katelyn, and Kristen Griffiths. Great Grandchildren; Hunter, Aubrey, and Jace Beitler; Elli and Danny Briggs, Emberly and Logan Rickert.
Preceded in death by parents Howard and Vivian Beitler. Brother Robert Beitler, Neice Kelli Beitler, and son William Howard Beitler.
Services will be held at Harwood Chapel, 516 N. 10th Street in Canon City, CO. on Monday August 30, at 10:00 A.M.
Bill was a sensitive, kind, and caring individual to his family and friends. He was a jack of all trades and was a very hard worker. Bill will be missed by his family and all his friends and who was fortunate enough to know him.
