Frank was raised in Fremont County but visited Texas and Oklahoma often in his early years for work which included oil rigs, logging jobs, running heavy equipment, and ranch work to name a few. Frank was an avid fisherman (He fished for sport, not to harvest them) and loved to go hunting with friends. Many of his loyal companions have been red bone and blue tick hounds which were happy to help him on a ranch where he resided for 20 years in Beulah Colorado. With calloused hands you would often find him breaking horses, mending fences and cutting wood along with various other tasks around the ranch. He had the best times of his life in Beulah Colorado and that’s where he felt the most at home.
He wasn’t very affectionate but you always knew if you held a special place in his heart because of the interaction he had with you. In his spare time he was drawing , painting, working on wood or sand sculptures and occasionally you would find him out in the yard with some of the grandkids taking them for tractor rides, horse rides or simply pushing them on a tire swing. He had significant health issues over the years and never took the time to stop and take care of himself because he always put others before himself. He was surrounded by loved ones throughout the final days of his life and during his passing with Randy Travis playing in the background. Super hero’s don’t always wear capes, sometimes they’re tucked away on a rugged mountain road chasing dreams and finding peace in the wilderness around them.
