Urban I. Ayala

Urban I. Ayala, 77, passed away October 2, 2016 at his home in Florence, CO.  He was born May 25, 1939 to Nicholas and Guadalupe (Mendoza) Ayala in Florence, CO.  He married Adonlia (Dona) Leiva, the love of his life and had two daughters, Elena and Angela. Urban was born and raised in Florence and loved the community.   If you knew Urban, you understood that he could be summed up in one word…LOVE.  He loved people and he loved helping them, he loved cooking for them and working alongside them.  He loved his Denver Broncos and his Florence Huskies Football team and he attended every FHS game he could, both home and away.  He loved joking and kidding with people and he loved his little grand dogs, which he spoiled…spoiled..spoiled.  But most of all, he dearly loved his children and family and always put their interests ahead of his own.  Urban was active with the San Juan Bautista Cemetery Association Board and served as its caretaker right up to the time of his passing. He was preceded by his parents; wife, Adonlia; siblings, Beatrice Solono, Conception Ayala, Susie Ramirez.   He is survived by his daughters, Elena Ayala and Angela Ayala; siblings, Frances Cordova, Lupie (Louie) Cortez, Nick (Tommi) Ayala, Simon Ayala, Chris Ayala, Frank (Valerie) Ayala and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his “grand-dogs”, CJ and Louis.   A Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Harwood Funeral Home, 225 E. Main Street, Florence, CO.  The family requests Bronco attire to be worn to the visitation.  Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, 622 W. 2nd Street, Florence, CO.  Inurnment to follow at San Juan Bautista Cemetery, Florence, CO.  Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.  Online condolences at Harwoodfunerals.com.
